Joe Lambert
Joe was born in San Diego and his dad was in the Marine Corps. His dad was sent overseas and Joe and his mom moved to Canada (when he was 6 days old) to live with his grandfather who was helping build the Alaskan Highway.
From there they moved to Panama where his grandfather worked on the Panama Canal.
The family then moved to New York when Joe was two years old. Joe moved to California at age eleven and later graduated from high school in Lynwood.
Joe joined the Marine Corps in 1965 where he served for four years and attained the rank of sergeant. Upon leaving the USMC, he began applying at various police departments. He was hired by NBPD in November of 1970 and graduated from the LAPD Academy.
Joe worked every division except for the Chief’s Office. He retired in 1999 and moved to Pinehurst, North Carolina in 2000. He works part-time leasing cars in California over the phone.
Joe has been a stamp collector for twenty-five years. He spends some time on the golf course. He played 36 holes the day before Rick called him, 27 holes the day of the call and planned to play at least 18 holes the following day. The green fees are $28 including a cart. Joe may be in Southern California in January to visit his grandson and granddaughter.
