Gary Chung

Gary began working for NBPD in March of 1956 at a salary of $325 per month. He worked for 33 years and retired in 1989.

Gary worked Patrol, was the Department’s first A. I. Officer, rode motors, worked as a helicopter observer and retired as a Desk Officer.

Upon retirement, he went to work for Boeing as a security officer. He has a top-secret clearance and is responsible for two of Boeing’s secured buildings at the facility in Seal Beach.

He works six, 12-hour shifts per week and has been with Boeing for sixteen years. He may retire next summer and would like to attend our meetings once he retires. Gary looks forward to the retirees’ Christmas Party.

Gary lives in Costa Mesa with his wife Sue and they have been married for 47 years.
